Running Club


Running club is back for our 6th year with some new changes.  First, student sign-in and stretches will begin at 7:45 on the Gold Rush field.  Second, participation is limited to 2nd - 5th grade students only.  Participants are expected to move at their own speed (walk, jog, run) and must be willing to engage in a variety of running activities such as lap counts, timed runs, and team running.  Students will be dismissed at 8:20 to enter the building.  Select the session that works best for you.  Registration and payment will be open on line so be sure to check out the Principal's Message email for the link on Thursday, August 17th.                           

Monday & Wednesday Session:
Aug. 23, 28, 30, Sept. 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, Oct. 2  (10 on site classes)
Sept. 4 no class - holiday break
Sept. 27 no class - rest day before Digger Dash

Tuesday & Thursday Session: 

 Aug. 24, 29, 31 Sept. 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, Oct. 3  (10 on site classes)
Sept. 5 no class - holiday break
Sept. 28 no class - rest day for Digger Dash

Participants should wear tennis shoes and bring a full water bottle. Classes will be held in the gym during rainy weather.  

The popular "reward tokens" will be used again to keep our runners motivated and consistent with their work-outs.  The tokens are tiny achievement symbols (see below) and will be given out at the end of each class.  Students who miss a class can make up 20-30 minutes of exercise on their own time, turn in a parent confirmation note, and receive the missed token.
